Kay joined NSPCC as senior consultant for education in 2011. The NSPCC Consultancy
Service works with organisations to support them with their safeguarding journey to ensure
they are safe for children. Kay works with schools, colleges and universities to develop and
review policies and procedures, review safeguarding practice and provide constructive
feedback for improvement. She also provides education sector-specific input in the
development of e-learning courses, teaching resources, information for schools and the
NSPCC’s strategy for engagement with schools.
Kay is a qualified teacher with over 25 years’ experience working in schools and local
authorities. Prior to joining NSPCC Kay worked in a school improvement role, working with
schools in special measures and other challenging circumstances to audit SEN provision and
support the schools’ workforce to increase capacity to include pupils with additional and
complex needs.
